Joslin Diabetes Center
Nutrition Team
Attune Foods worked with Joslin Diabetes Center Registered Dietitians to develop FAQs about diabetes for the Attune Foods website. Registered dietitians are an integral part of Joslin Diabetes Center where they work in Joslin’s Clinic, its Research Division and in Strategic Initiatives. At Joslin, the RDs are an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, working side by side with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and other diabetes educators to provide patient care. Dietitians teach patient education classes, provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, participate on clinical research teams, and serve as faculty for professional education programs. In addition, dietitians are actively involved in writing and reviewing Joslin publications and new program development projects. The dietitians all are specialists in diabetes care (most are Certified Diabetes Educators and have master’s degrees). Many have developed sub-specializations in such areas as pediatrics, geriatric care, eating disorders, weight management, pump therapy, medical writing and counseling and behavior change strategies. Collectively, the 15 dietitians employed at Joslin have nearly 300 years of experience (!) and are known nationally and internationally for their outstanding contributions to the world of diabetes and nutrition care.
